In the world of luxury, there are unexpected collaborations based on shared values and creative spirit. Such is the case with The Macallan and their latest novel partnership with luxury car manufacturer Bentley Motors. This collaboration offers a scarce single malt whiskey called The Horizon.
The decanter features a cover of six unique spirals. Focused on shared common interests like innovation, craftsmanship, and creativity. A nod to the Six Pillars, made from recycled materials from both parties. Copper from the old Macallan distillery and aluminum from Bentley. All bound together with reclaimed wood, recyclable glass, and carbon-neutral leather.
The collaboration with Bentley Motors and the knowledge exchange inspired them to see things differently. In the spirit world, everything is upright, like stills and bottles. But, keeping the horizontal direction followed by Bentley Motors as part of the auto industry made them consider whether they could adapt this format for whisky, which ultimately requires pouring.
The bottle -rotated 180 degrees without a base -houses a rare single malt whiskey developed by Master Whiskey Maker Kirsteen Campbell. The spirit profile was inspired by natural ingredients from the country and a visit to Bentley Motors in Crewe.
