The casual style of the home office has inspired even the great designers in 2022. At least, that’s what it seems in the case of Kim Jones and the novel unexpected proposal that he recently presented in his new menswear collection for Dior. The luxury Maison partnered with the German footwear firm Birkenstock. A name that generally suggests comfort rather than luxury.
The unexpected collaboration will be available later this year and includes the Boston Clog and Milano Sandal in gray felt. The Boston clog gets a makeover with rubber mudguards, multicolored floral embroidery, a leather ankle strap, and an engraved Dior monogram sole. The Milano sandal features a gray seamless design with a leather ankle strap. The buckles of both models are iconic of the French house.
During the FW22 parade, Boston clogs in taupe, beige, and brown will also stand out. This collection is a sign of the high fashion world’s continued push to embrace comfort without losing style, as its customers seek to balance style with stay-at-home culture.
