According to mindfulness, awareness in the practice of our daily activities helps reduce stress, improve our habits and improve our quality of life. To get their benefits and enjoy it is advisable to use functional garments for these activities, which help you unleash your creativity and are considerate of the environment and conservation.
An example of this is the new collection Essentials from Folklórika, Colmena. A 100% Mexican firm of table textiles and functional garments. This new collection by Bianca Bejos recreates practical lines and minimalist cuts for making garments designed for cooking, painting, gardening, or unleashing creativity in the atelier.
A collection made by pieces created in her creative laboratory with the idea of accentuating the beauty of sewing in basic outfits for daily work.
Six pieces that adapt to all silhouettes and activities: the Cross Back Mix Bib Apron, with a hidden pocket and straps in contrasting tones; the Colmena and Colmenita overalls, both with a semi-hexagonal geometric cut and front pockets; and the Waxed Canvas Breastplate, whose beeswax coating – a signature feature – makes it ideal for plastic arts, crafts, and gardening.
Folklórika presents functional garments and table textiles inspired by bees and with a message that invites to underline the awareness of their vital contribution to the conservation of the environment.
The collection enriches by the overshirt, a unisex garment with a sports collar – with multiple functional pockets – and the most outstanding piece: the work jumpsuit, which combines practicality and comfort. Colmena has sustainable innovations like waxed gabardine and eco gabardine. A fabric made from a polyester blend made from recycled PET.
The color palette includes black tones, mustard, and a white-raw hue present in the base fabrics. Handcrafted touches in through applications of cotton shawls woven on a backstrap loom with the Calimaya pattern. Emblematic of the homonymous community of the State of Mexico.
COLMENA preserves the accurate and clean aesthetic of #EsencialesFolklorika while pronouncing a message of awareness about bees responsible for pollinating most crops used for food globally. Essentials Folklorika contributes a percentage of the sales of this collection to the sustainable beekeeping program of Miel Santa María de la Montaña to sponsor beehives in Jalisco.
