Since the untimely retirement of the Concorde aircraft almost twenty years ago, the comeback of this aircraft was not considered possible. However, this year Boom’s Supersonic Overture was unveiled and presented as the next generation of this technology.
The Overture will have the capacity to transport 88 passengers, avoiding very long flights and reducing the environmental impact at the same time.
The extraordinary speed of this ship reaches Mach 1.7 allowing it to travel from Los Angeles to Sydney in just six hours and 45 minutes and from New York to London in just three hours.
Boom’s Supersonic Overture runs on 100% sustainable jet fuel to generate zero impact on its carbon footprints. The delivery of the craft is scheduled for 2025, and for now, the first scheduled flights will be with United Airlines who has so far signed to buy a fleet of fifteen ships.
