Now that scenarios are rushing to the virtual world, Balenciaga, the Spanish luxury brand, presented its Spring / Summer 22 collection through a virtual runway Red Carpet-themed. In collaboration with the progressive multimedia artist Claudia Maté.

For this campaign, the Parisian artist transformed the house’s most iconic models into deliberately low-resolution CGI renderings, wearing the new collection’s garments against a scarlet background.
Models in the virtual campaign include Tommy Blue, Abdou Diop, Zinedine El Ouazzani, Gwen Lu, Eugenie Bondurant, Marie-Agnès Diene, Aki Nummela, Anania Orgeas, Hansi Schmidt, Minttu Vesala, and Inti Wang.

The result is unconventional, and so is Balenciaga. A lot is to say about its artistic value. Yet, undeniably, Balenciaga’s novel retro-futuristic pieces innovatively and engagingly.
