Students of the fourth generation of CENTRO’s Global Fashion Management Master participated in the first international seminar in New York alongside students from the Fashion Institute of Technology, FIT, the Institut Français de la Mode, IFM, in Paris, and Poly University, in Hong Kong. They discussed the most relevant issues in the fashion industry, like sustainability and experiences with renowned professionals like Tommy Hilfiger, Erin Beatty, founder of the firm Rentrayage, Dr. William Bill D’Arienzo, and Deirdre Quinn, CEO of Lafayette 148.
From September 19 to 24, the future professionals carried out different activities, including the case analysis of the Rentrayage brand with the theme How to scale a sustainable business? They had the mentoring of professors Margaret Joseph and FIT’s Richard Jaffe and Erin Beatty, founder of Rentrayage, and Stephanie Loehr, COO of Rentrayage, who shared their experience with a sustainable apparel and home goods firm.
CENTRO’s Global Fashion Management Master’s Degree is the only international program focused on training fashion business experts committed to sustainability.
The International Seminar of the Global Fashion Management Master’s Degree – held every six months – is part of the Business and Finance learning units. It is a fundamental tool in the training of students. Through the seminar, they can share their experiences and build a network of international contacts that will allow them to achieve professional and personal growth.
The work program included conferences on fashion, visits to companies, museums, and meetings to establish networking with graduates of the FIT Global Fashion Management postgraduate course. Likewise, a collaboration system was encouraged in multicultural teams that would allow learning about sustainability challenges and the vision of fashion businesses in other countries.
CENTRO’s Global Fashion Management Master’s degree trains fashion professionals in specialized areas such as marketing, business, and finance. Thanks to its strategic location in Mexico City, CENTRO is consolidated as a hub in Latin America for future region experts.
