Bugatti Chiron Super Sport – The pinnacle of luxury and speed –

Reading Time: 2.5 min.

The new Bugatti Chiron Hyper Sport 1 has been designed without compromise for optimal aerodynamic performance. Bugatti engineers developed the new supercar to achieve top speed while celebrating luxury and comfort.

From the front splitter to the rear diffuser, every inch of its frame is designed for maximum speed. The new Chiron Hyper Sport is an explicit representation of Bugatti’s design mantra, «form follows performance.»

The design process focused in particular on achieving aerodynamic efficiency.

At speeds above 420 km / h, a vehicle must offer sufficient downforce and minimal drag. “Our goal was to give the vehicle a neutral configuration at its top speed and at the same time give it the most aerodynamic shape possible,” explains Frank Heyl, Deputy Director of Design at Bugatti.

The interior is a combination of timeless elegance and incomparable comfort. It is a mix of natural elements such as leather and polished aluminum, along with high-tech carbon fiber applications. This is an interior that is perfectly suited for high-speed highway travel.

The Chiron Super Sport accelerates from 0 to 200 km / h in 5.8 seconds and 300 km / h in 12.1 seconds.

To increase the adrenaline, Bugatti thoroughly overhauled the 8.0-liter W16 engine for the Chiron Hyper Sport and increased its performance by 100 PS to 1,176 kW / 1,600 PS. At the same time, the weight of the vehicle was reduced by 23 kilograms. Engineers made modifications to the turbochargers, oil pump, and cylinder head with a valve train, as well as to the transmission and clutch.

We increased revolutions per minute (RPM) for even greater longitudinal acceleration and an even more emotional driving experience,» says Michael Kodra, Bugatti’s director of driving development.

New chassis configuration for maximum speed

Bugatti developed a new chassis specifically for the Chiron Super Sport’s high speeds and new aerodynamics. The steering systems and shock absorbers create a firmer and more rigid connection to the vehicle from the driving feel, resulting in tighter steering for smoother steering movements.

Even in tight corners taken at high speeds, the rear end remains calm and neutral, resulting in a very safe ride in the Chiron Super Sport.

Our focus at top speed is absolute driving stability coupled with comfort, explains Jachin Schwalbe, Bugatti’s Head of Chassis Development.

The delivery of the supercars priced at € 3.2 million (net) is scheduled for early 2022. Learn more at: bugatti.com
