On Thursday, September 22, we met the latest jewel from El Palacio de Hierro; in the heart of one of Mexico City’s most beautiful and tradition-filled areas: Coyoacán. The event began with a yellow carpet walked by celebrities and socialité. Afterward, the official inauguration was presided over by Alejandro Baillères, heir to the leadership of Grupo Bal.
The 4,000 guests explored every corner of the over four hundred thousand square feet area, which the luxury department store has throughout its five floors. Inside the store, people could appreciate its interior design, inspired by Coyoacán and its culture: through its columns, sculptures, and colorful details. Always maintaining its luxurious identity and aesthetic, a staple for which El Palacio de Hierro is known.
The guests enjoyed the event with champagne and canapés (designed by chef Gabriela Ruiz, owner of both Carmela y Sal and Vuelve Carmela restaurants) alongside a fantastic concert by singers Benny Ibarra and Ximena Sariñana. But this was just the beginning of an unforgettable night filled with luxury, fashion, and music.
The celebration continued with a dazzling and unexpected fashion show with the international models wearing the best luxury brands and walking amongst the guests. This runway concluded on the upper floor under the store’s glass dome. And it was up there where Tom & Collins, international DJs, closed the celebration dressed in Dolce & Gabbana.
This party undoubtedly introduced El Palacio de Hierro Coyoacán as a new legend in Mexico City, an icon that pays tribute to the luxury store’s name and history.
