After two years of absence in Mexico, Despertares returns to Mexico National Auditorium on August 6, reuniting the grandest exponents and companies of the global dance scene. All under the artistic direction of the Mexican dancer Isaac Hernández and the production of Soul Arts Productions. A production house directed by Emilia Hernández and of which both are co-founders.

Since its first edition in 2011, Despertares has been acclaimed for reuniting the best of international dance on the same stage. Exhibiting not only Classical Ballet but also a vast repertoire that ranges from the contemporary, urban, tap, popping, locking, and many more.

I feel lucky and happy to be able to return to my country with Awakenings. During these past difficult years for everyone, I have missed my homeland and the Mexican audience. And all the fantastic moments we have shared through this project. This uplifted me with motivation to come back next August 6 to share these emotions once more. To dance again for all those who love and support me. Spending a few hours together embracing encouragement, happiness, and hope for life. Shares with us Isaac Hernández on his return to the Mexican stages.

For the ninth edition of the show, Despertares will present fourteen numbers, bringing together thirty artists on stage for an unforgettable night.

This return allows Mexican audiences to enjoy the beauty and energy of dance in a recently renovated venue with the most advanced technology in sound, video screens, and room lighting. We are sure that Despertares 2022 will be an even more emotional and memorable experience than its previous editions. Says Eduardo Amerena, Executive Coordinator of the National Auditorium.
