Le Pride Weekend at Sofitel Mexico City Reforma

Reading Time: 2,3 min.

June is officially the month to experience Pride to the fullest. Beyond buying multicolored versions of everyday products, this celebration aims to reinforce the sense of belonging and openness. And when the brands are right, they also seek to support related causes that support the LGBTTTIQ+ community. Such is the case of the solidarity PRIDE of Sofitel Mexico City Reforma.

This hotel is probably the best place to experience an exceptional Pride Month celebration. This is thanks to its location in the heart of Paseo de la Reforma, an iconic place where the LGBTTTIQ+ march begins and takes place on the last Saturday of June.

To welcome the most colorful month of the year, the luxurious French hotel illuminates its façade with an unmissable spot, painting itself in the colors of the rainbow. Energizing life to its incredible vintage mansion with the chicest decoration to celebrate diversity and l ‘amour in everyone regardless of gender, identity, or sexual orientation.

Sofitel Mexico City Reforma, true to its brand commitment to hospitality, will support the Casa Frida Shelter through various actions during Pride Month.

Casa Frida is a non-profit organization. They provide rescue, accommodation, care, and comprehensive health care for LGBTTTIQ+ people fleeing extreme violence and/or being expelled from their homes. Casa Frida began as an LGBTTIQ+ shelter in Mexico City.

They opened their doors in 2020 to serve homeless LGBTTIQ+ people during the pandemic. Since then, more than 150 people have passed through its facilities. However, 45% of their cases are of LGBQTTIQ+ migrants from Guatemala, Honduras, and El Salvador. Knowing that there are hundreds of LGBTTIQ+ people fleeing violence in these places, this shelter would be there to ease their way and welcome them with love.

From your arrival, you will be greeted with a warm bonjour. On June 25, you will have the opportunity to receive an arc en Ciel-style amenity. In addition to contributing to the cause of the Casa Frida Shelter, by acquiring, during your stay, a variety of raspberry, candied orange, yellow lemon, pistachio, blueberry, and lavender macaroons that pay homage to the rainbow.

Casa Frida Shelter seeks to support the creation of a shelter in Tapachula, Chiapas, to help LGBTTTIQ+ migrants from Central American countries. There, the levels of LGTBIFobia are still high, to have a safe place where they are affirmed and respected for who they are.

During June, you can enjoy the Coco rainbow cocktail at Cityzen Rooftop Kitchen. It is based on José Cuervo Cristalino Tequila, lavender syrup, lemon juice, Aperol with coconut foam on top, and popcorn. It manages to fuse an explosion of flavors to celebrate and live the magic of a summer sunset next to the clouds. 25% of the purchases of this cocktail will be donated to Casa Frida Refuge. As well as 50% of the sales of an ice cream cart with mango, raspberry, yellow lemon, and apple flavors on Saturday, June 25. You will find yourself in front of the emblematic hotel to cool off and support during the LGBTTTIQ+ march.

Enjoy the most fabulous pride weekend in the City with a lunch or dinner next to the angel of independence, on one of the best terraces. Book your reservation to live this experience either Friday, Saturday, or Sunday for a minimum consumption of 2,500 pesos per person, hosted by different DJs in sets with the following schedules:
