Traveling without leaving the city is possible through the senses. Thanks to iconic details, inspired decoration, and a touch of imagination – as well as an extraordinary gastronomic proposal that is decidedly European – One £ Pound, the new restaurant by Luis López Morton- invites us to travel through the old continent. Without leaving the Lomas de Chapultepec.
One £ Pound arises from the experiences of its creator, who for more than a decade lived around the world and participated in a complete culinary experience in different countries such as England, Australia, Spain, and the United States. Upon returning to Mexico, he began to prepare to undertake the gastronomic field.
The restaurant, One £ Pound, is inspired by aesthetic details of British influence. But the gastronomic proposal is widely European. It includes two highlights from the United Kingdom: the Wellington steak and the Fish & Chips. Dishes that have already become local favorites.
Diners can enjoy the international experiences of Executive Chef Fransico Tamayo and his staff. They achieve, classically and tastefully, a variety of European dishes such as beef carpaccio, burrata with pesto, pork ribs with sweet and sour sauce, or serrano ham croquettes. Among other proposals, the original recipe for Caesar salad; was prepared in collaboration with César Cardini. Don’t forget to order this exquisite dish, drawn for you at the moment at your table.
The travel experience continues when original British Airways trolleys bring signature cocktails and mixology to the table. Among them is the Yellow Bird in a glass in the shape of a bird, Windsor tropicalized with mezcal. Boulevardier with a Negroni made with Whiskey in-house aged for two years. In addition, One £ Pound has more than 140 wine labels from different parts of the world in its cellar, ready to taste.
The decoration is committed to the authenticity of its elements. The paintings on the stairs, the lobby, and the restaurant are original and highly representative. One of the British flags belonged to a World War II ship, and the other is a sister flag to the one at the UK Embassy in Mexico. Of course, the representation of Queen Elizabeth II could not be missing.
