We all know that exercise is good for your health, but do you know how good it is? From improving your mood to improving your sex life, discover how exercise can improve your life.

The benefits of physical activity and exercise are impossible to deny. At any age, physical condition, or gender, exercise helps to improve our quality of life, have more energy, and not only live longer but also live better. Among the many fruits that you get from having an active life, these are a few examples of the benefits you can reap.

Control your Weight

Exercise helps you say goodbye to those extra pounds and maintain your ideal weight; the more intense your routine, the better the results.

Having a routine at the gym is great, but don’t worry if you can’t go every day. Any physical activity is better than sitting still. Just try to stay active during the day. You can take the stairs instead of the elevator, walk or use a bike to get to your activities, and more. Remember that consistency is the key.

Reduces health risks and fights diseases

Are you worried about the health of your heart? Do you feel that sometimes your pressure rises? Regardless of your weight, exercise helps raise high-density lipoproteins, also known as HDL cholesterol or good cholesterol, in addition to reducing triglycerides.

Some of the conditions that exercise helps to reduce or combat are heart attacks, metabolic syndromes, high blood pressure, type 2 diabetes, depression, anxiety, many types of cancer, arthritis, cognitive functions, and many more.

Improve your mood

Do you need something to lift you or help reduce stress after a long day? Physical activity stimulates different neurotransmitters that help you feel happy, relaxed, and less anxious.

In addition, improving your appearance will increase your confidence and self-esteem.

Increase your energy

Exercise provides oxygen and nutrients to your tissues that help improve the performance of your cardiovascular system. By improving the health of your heart and lungs, you will have more energy to face the day-to-day.

It enhances sleep

Do you have trouble sleeping? Consistent physical activity helps you sleep better and sooner. Just try not to do your routine for a couple of hours before bed, or you could have too much energy to fall asleep.

Bring the spark back to your love-life

Are you feeling too tired or out of shape to enjoy intimacy? Regular exercise will help you increase your confidence and your energy levels. In addition, in the case of women, a constant physical routine can increase libido levels, and in the case of men, it helps reduce the risk of some dysfunction.

Experts agree exercise is a great way to feel better, take care of your health, and have fun. For most adults in optimal health, the United States Department of Health recommends the following:

Aerobic activity

Get at least 150 minutes of moderate aerobic activity or 75 minutes of vigorous aerobic movement during the week, or a combination of both.

For best results and to help you stay in line or lose weight, the least recommended is 300 minutes per week. Moderate activities are those like walking, jogging, biking, swimming, or mowing the lawn. Vigorous activities include running, heavy lifting, and aerobic dancing.

Strength training

Ideally, do strength exercises for your major muscle groups at least twice a week. Try to do one set of each workout using enough weights or resistance ropes to tire your muscles after 12-15 reps.

Strength training can include weights, machines, your weight, heavy bags, and more.

We recommend consulting with your doctor before starting a routine, especially if you have questions about your health or have not exercised in a while.
