The majesty of the monarch butterfly in your home

ReadingTime: 1 min.

The monarch butterfly is a majestic species whose surprising and complex migration process was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 2008. In November each year, the butterflies return to Mexico from Canada and the United States to embellish their sanctuaries in Michoacán and the State of Mexico.

Today it is possible to pay homage and beautify your spaces with pieces inspired by this creature, an icon of elegance and resilience, thanks to an extraordinary collection of rugs, cushions, and hanging tapestries.  All created for The Rug Company by Sarah Burton, the Creative Director of the firm Alexander McQueen.

This design deconstructs organic motifs and reconstructs them into a fascinating print with a timeless design inspired by the exquisite wings of the butterfly, its hypnotic movement, and delicate design.

The Monarch rug is handwoven in silk, and you can find it in the Monarch Smoke version in brown and gray tones or its most dramatic version in true McQueen style, the Monarch Fire.

A Statement-piece is the Monarch cushion woven in silk and wool with the Aubusson technique; the traditional art of hand-weaving on a loom an image from cardboard with a painting, using hand-dyed threads.

Without a doubt, they are exceptional pieces created for those who always look for the best.
