The legend of the Chinese calendar says that on his deathbed, Buddha summoned all the animals on earth to bear witness to his last wish, then, twelve animals appeared in the following order: the rat, the ox, tiger, rabbit, dragon, snake, horse, goat, monkey, rooster, dog, and pig; for their devotion, Buddha assigned each one a place in the Chinese zodiac and thus each lunar year, in cycles of twelve, is represented by one of these animals, all of them loaded with powerful symbology.

February 14 marks the beginning of the Year of the Tiger, a wild and ferocious animal, acknowledged by the Chinese people as the noblest animal in the jungle. In homage to this being and to celebrate the Lunar New Year, Valentino presents a relaunch of its acclaimed Valentino Tiger 1967 line.

This ready-to-wear collection and accessories are full of tabby motifs that evoke designs first introduced in the Fall/Winter 1967 Haute Couture collection. Prominent among these is an iconic tiger coat that appeared on the cover in October 1967. of US Vogue.

Tiger motifs can be seen on everything, from short pants and hoodies to bucket hats and studded bags in a playful mix of bold and natural colors. In this collection stand out, the new Garavani Locò double-handle bag and its predominant style evoke the 90s.

The Valentino Tiger 1967 collection and its striking stripes to celebrate Chinese New Year are now available in select Valentino boutiques worldwide.
