Since 2017, Pomellato has been a pioneering force in advocating for gender equality, diversity, and inclusion, first expressed through the Pomellato For Women program. Expanding its support to a larger community, in June 2022, the Milanese jeweler celebrates Pride Month with the inspiring «I am Here» video. The black and white video features celebrities and key LGBTQIA+ allies. They speak to the camera as they explore meaningful questions about the nature of love, freedom, tolerance, the meaning of pride, and the need for change. And Pomellato takes advantage of its visibility to bring meaningful conversations to the table.
Why am I here? Leading figures from the LGBTQIA+ movement and their supporters are asked to share their thoughts in a poignant and genuine conversation. The answers are I am here for anyone who feels abandoned. I am here for my younger self. I am here for that boy. That girl who felt trapped. I am here because I am finally free and happy. I am here for my rights. I am here because this battle never ends. There is still a long way to go. I am here because I am proud of who I am. and of whom I love, and the person who loves me. I am here because I am proud of my feelings.
Pomellato CEO Sabina Belli and Creative Director Vincenzo Castaldo are also on camera. They add their voices to this message alongside celebrities and activists who have opened their hearts. The lineup includes Italian actress and author Drusilla Foer, who has always supported the LGBTQIA+ community and is respected for her soul and sensitivity in tackling controversial issues.
She is joined by Alessandro Gassmann, the Italian actor, director, and activist who is an influential public figure on social, political, and environmental issues. As well as one of the first Italian actors to play gay movie roles. We also see activists Lea T, a transgender and transsexual fashion model born in Brazil and raised in Italy. As well as Sibel Kekilli, a German actress best known for her role in Game of Thrones and an ambassador for the organization of women’s rights, Terre Des Femmes.
Diversity in all its forms is represented by Kasia Smutniak. The Polish social activist actress is always at the forefront of women, minorities, and migrants who received the Domina Award in 2021 for her work striving for the Empowerment of Women. The cast proudly includes Nicolas Maury, French actor, director, and Jury President of the 2021 Cannes Film Festival Queer Palm, an independent award for selected LGBTQIA+ films, and Riccardo Bagaini, a young Paralympic athlete, winner of 4 European medals and 29 Italian titles.
Pomellato thanks each of these inspiring characters for taking a stand and voicing the issues that should be addressed.
