In the aftermath of the pandemic, podcasts have become an increasingly popular entertainment option in Mexico and globally. If we add to this trend the most popular superhero from DC Comics and Warner Bros, we get the best podcast, made by Spotify, until now, Batman Unburied.
Batman Unburied, an upcoming Spotify-exclusive podcast created in partnership with Warner Bros. and DC Comics, is scheduled to debut on May 3rd as the grandest global simulcast release until now for Spotify. With nine adaptations globally.
Batman Unburied promises to take listeners on a new journey deep into the mind of Bruce Wayne, introducing a slew of dark twists and turns with several classic Batman supervillains. According to a release. Working as a forensic pathologist in the bowels of Gotham Hospital, the superhero must not only face his mental demons but also overcome them to save the citizens of Gotham.
Alongside Duke, the English-language version of the podcast will feature Hasan Minhaj as The Riddler, Jason Isaacs as Alfred, Gina Rodriguez as Barbara Gordon, Lance Reddick as Thomas Wayne, Toks Olagundoye as Martha Wayne, John Rhys-Davies as Dr. Hunter and Ashly Burch as Vicki Vale.
Spotify has also created eight adaptations of the original English series for Brazil, France, Germany, India, Indonesia, Italy, Japan, and Mexico, each with casts of their own. Playing Batman in those countries are Rocco Pitanga (Brazil), Dali Benssalah (France), Murathan Muslu (Germany), Amit Sadh (India), Ario Bayu (Indonesia), Claudio Santamaria (Italy), Ryohei Otani (Japan) and Alfonso Herrera (Mexico).
