Last Thursday, March 31, the seventh edition of Dance Fest MX 2022 began. This festival intends to motivate young dancers and their community and expose them to unique experiences of international stature.

The Master Classes for students from different academies and a class for directors, choreographers, and teachers began with the international guest artist Jasmine Mason from Los Angeles, who shares credits as a dancer on the Katy Perry tour, Jennifer Lopez’s video Take my breath, among others.

The closing of this great event took place on Sunday, April 3, where Lau Jau Studio Producciones managed to gather more than 1,200 guests with all COVID protocols, healthy distance, and face masks to return to this stage after two years.

The Proart, Ballet San Jerónimo, Dancing Dream Center, MD Proart, Jerónimo, Dancing Dream Center, MD Studio, Emi Bahena Show Dance, Macarena Dance Project, Sevillanza, and Lau Studio academies presented content from the different dance disciplines.

One of the most exciting moments was when the national guest artist Oscar Osorno, sponsored by Lau Jau Studio, impacted attendants with his choreography in the Opening Number, accompanying the girls from Lau Jau Studio on stage. Another surprise was when students from different academies drove the audience crazy by performing the Closing Number and sharing the stage with Jasmine Mason.

The highlight of the evening was thanks to the creator and founder of this event, Laura Jauregui, sharing the stage with her students from Lau Jau Studio in the discipline of Hip Hop. Excited, she shared with us that it is something she wanted to do after two years to return to the stage of the Pepsi Center WTC, having not stepped on the spotlight for 15 years and sure that it was the best moment to enjoy with her girls, thank and honor that this space stays alive.

Later, the after-party took place, there a Dance-Off was held in which two girls from each academy faced each other on the dance floor with different music. More than 500 people enjoyed this great party with snacks, drinks, a sweets bar, and dancing.
