Photography giant Leica is preparing to launch the first 4K video projector in 2023. It is a sleek aluminum ultra-short throw 4K video projector that will display 80-inch and 100-inch images.

The ultra-short throw projector, which Leica describes as a laser TV, can achieve 80-inch and 100-inch 4K images by placing it just inches from a wall, using «unique triple RGB laser technology» and Summicron aspherical lens.

The perforated «sleek aluminum body» also features Dolby Atmos surround sound, TV tuner, and Smart TV interface, while HDMI, USB, and screen mirroring inputs take care of connectivity.

Under the name Cine 1, Leica’s first projector will hit the market in the second quarter of next year. The short-range laser will outperform OLED TVs of comparable size in terms of power consumption.

The Leica Cinema 1 will allow viewers to experience cinematic pleasure in the comfort of their own homes with the highest audiovisual level. The cinema comes home.
