More than four decades ago, Elena Villarreal Carrillo trusted her instincts and opened Ultrafemme in the city of Chetumal. Ultrafemme, a 100% Mexican company, opted for a space in which women and men could identify with passionate and intuitive fragrances that would tell the story of their lives.

With a suitcase full of dreams and scent memories, Elena decided to move her business to Cancun; without imagining she would build an empire promoting luxury, beauty, and perfumes.

Elena put down roots, struggled every day to grow as an entrepreneur in a difficult time for women and business. Over the years, Ultrafemme managed to position itself as a must for luxury lovers who saw Caribbean Mexico as a star destination for high-end shopping.

Without knowing the term that in recent decades defines this type of multi-brand space, Elena created a luxury concept store. The offer included the best perfumery and the most exclusive beauty brands to promote a style of life in which savoir-faire is essential; some of the most renowned jewelry houses were also present.

As time went by, luxury brands like Cartier trusted in the tenacity of Mrs. Elena Villarreal and her family. More than creating a business, they turned it into an incubator that supported the positioning of major international brands in the southeast Mexican market. And what would come after, naturally, was the creation of Grupo Ultra, which today represents five business units representing luxury brands in Mexico.
