In celebration of Vail’s 60th anniversary, a new series by photographic artist Gray Malin was introduced, titled Gray Malin in Vail, a series that reflects six decades of legendary experiences and lifestyle on the mountain.
For this series, the artist draws inspiration from the origins of this destination and recreates iconic photographs from the 1960s with a modern vintage aesthetic. To complement this experience, Vail is launching new interactive guest experiences inspired by the photo series.
This vintage collection is the second installment in the artist on the mountain series. The new series brings to mind the emotions of Vail’s history through a collection of photographs. The series is available to the public throughout the entire resort experience. Who has exhibited the then and now images distributed throughout the resort and has launched new experiences for guests inspired by the collection.
Some of these experiences include the Mountain Art Gallery. This destination renovated and redesigned Bistro 14 restaurant and bar into an art gallery with 14,000-foot views. Guests entering the dining and cocktail space will enjoy Gray Malin’s vintage-inspired and aerial artwork. Or how about Après at Bar de Hielo; perfect for reliving the après spirit (that relaxing après-ski moment with your favorite beer or cocktail) of the early days at one of two new Mountain Ice Bars. Vail Post Office and many more surprises for this season in one of the best ski destinations in the world.
