The holiday season, spring, and heat begin, and with it comes the desire to wear green and celebrate a traditional Irish holiday that we have not only gladly adopted. It also gives us the perfect excuse to soak up history and learn more about the brotherhood between Mexico and Ireland. And for this, nothing is better than celebrating St. Patrick’s Day without leaving the city.

St. Patrick’s Weekend promises an unforgettable experience sponsored by the San Patricio Distillery. You can’t miss it. The event is at Casa Coahuila in Churubusco, Mexico City, on March 15 and 16.

The festival lineup includes internationally renowned artists such as pacifist singer-songwriter David Rovics and award-winning Mexican dancer Luisa Díaz. Attendees will enjoy Irish music and dancing, gastronomy, spirits, beer, and a wide range of Celtic crafts in the grandest pub atmosphere in Mexico.

This first edition of St. Patrick’s Weekend will take place at Casa Coahuila, located in the area where the St. Patrick’s Battalion fought in August 1847, soldiers who gave their lives for Mexico during the US invasion. As part of this tribute, American singer-songwriter David Rovics will perform his famous song St. Patrick Battalion, which narrates the life and heroism of Captain John O’Reilly and his more than 250 soldiers.

The lineup includes more than a dozen musical and dance groups sharing their rituals from 12 to 22 hours, next March 15 and 16.
