After a couple of years, the SIAR Summer Experience has become the meeting point for the best of independent Haute Horlogerie in the summer. Its third edition was no exception, and from June 13 to 15, hundreds of guests gathered at the Four Seasons Hotel in Mexico City to learn about the best proposals, including special editions dedicated to the national market.
As in the two previous editions, the SIAR Summer Experience featured the participation of bold and dynamic brands that break new ground for watchmaking thanks to their revolutionary designs and mechanisms, reflecting the magic of the Métiers d’Art and the innovation that characterizes the sector.
This year they debuted the exquisite Japanese firm Grand Seiko, increasingly admired by the Mexican clientele; Gérald Charles, the house founded by the legendary watch designer Gérald Genta; Buben & Zorweg, a brand specializing in ultra-luxury watch winders, safes, and humidors; Louis Erard, who showed off the playful Le Régulateur watch made in collaboration with Russian watchmaker Konstantin Chaykin, and Kross Studio, which wowed attendees with its tourbillons inspired by the Game of Thrones and House of the Dragon television series.
Likewise, the guests saw and tried on the wrist several novelties of 2023 that arrived for the first time in Mexico. Among them were the Double Tourbillon Aventurine, by Arnold & Son; the Riviera Azur, by Baume & Mercier; the Virtuoso XI and the 19th Thirty Meteorite, from Bovet 1822; Crazy Hours by Hom Nguyen, by Franck Muller; a new version of Space Revolution, by Louis Moinet; the 1770 Voltige Blue Mineral, by Manufacture Royale; the Purnell X PSG Escape Limited Edition, from Purnell; Ripples 20th Anniversary, from Speake-Marin; and the Diver X Azure and Diver X Skeleton Azure, by Ulysse Nardin.
The Unnamed Society exhibited its Winchester rifle watches, Reimagined, and its new line of Talisman jewelry. Girard-Perregaux dazzled with various versions of its iconic Laureato and Bridges collections, and De Bethune, Trilobe, and Ludovic Ballouard captivated with their poetic signature watchmaking expressions.
In addition to exposing some of today’s most cutting-edge and cool watches in one place, SIAR Summer Experience has the freshness of a summer pop-up around one of the capital’s most emblematic gardens. In this casual and relaxed setting, those attending the third edition were able to relax and network on the terraces of the Four Seasons Hotel with magnificent cocktail experiences offered by Hennesy cognac, Glenmorangie whiskey, Volcán de mi Tierra tequila, and Chandon Garden Spritz sparkling wine.
SIAR Summer Experience, organized by the Salón Internacional Alta Relojería (SIAR), Mexico, is one of the most prestigious events in the watch sector and in the world of luxury in the country and the region, which will hold its 17th edition in October 2023.
