Art Week 2024 in Mexico City was more intense than ever. In addition to great fairs and exhibitions, some lucky ones had the opportunity to meet and live with legendary figures from the art world and experience exquisite moments by learning more about their work. One of the most outstanding gatherings was the celebration cocktail for the artistic community offered by Four Seasons and Tequila 1800 with artist Dustin Yellin, accompanied by acclaimed filmmaker Darren Aronofsky.
Zsona Maco and art week served as the perfect pretext to present at this event a special edition of 1800 Essential Tequila in a bottle designed by the Californian artist Dustin Yellin, as well as the piece 50% Banana of his authorship, which will be on display at the hotel from February to July 2024.
¨50% Banana¨ is a piece that is part of Dustin Yellin’s signature Psychogeography series, a collection of human-like figures made with paper collage and acrylic paint embedded between sheets of glass. Yellin started the project in 2012, inspired by the Terracotta Warriors.
As the afternoon fell, the 2nd-floor terrace opened its doors to begin the cocktail party starring the artist Dustin Yellin in the company of Walker Waugh, curator and director of Dustin and Darren Aronofsky’s studio, who shared anecdotes, exchanges of perspectives, and recommendations They shared a moment in which the camaraderie and admiration that exists between both talents stood out.
Exclusively, guests enjoyed canapés and a one-of-a-kind welcome drink inspired by the artist’s work, prepared in collaboration with the experts at Tequila 1800 and Fifty Mils. However, fans of tequila and art will also be able to enjoy at home six unique bottles of Tequila 1800 Blanco created by the artist, which take different names: Ring of Fire, The Theia Hypothesis, Navel of The World, Gravity’s Sungshot, UT Tensio SIC VIS and Daughter of The River.
The works created for the Tequila 1800 Essential collection seek to inspire viewers by celebrating the diversity of the world and exploring the complexities of identity, natural balance, and the real meaning of life.
