Dany Deglein presents “De aquí pa’ allá”

Music, visual art, and Latin American identity converged during the presentation of “De aquí pa’ allá,” the new album by Dany Deglein, unveiled as a multisensory experience under the curatorial vision of Banana Contemporary and Banana Music.

Statement attended the immersive presentation held at Magda San Ángel, where the project transcended the traditional listening session or showcase format to become an “expanded work” blending music, contemporary narrative, visual art, and performance.

Conceived as an interdisciplinary project, “De aquí pa’ allá” explores migration, identity, and diversity through a deeply Latin American perspective, building a narrative where space, corporeality, and memory function as conceptual pillars.

The live presentation brought together an artistic collaboration led by creators such as Eduardo Cifuentes, Gustavo García Murrieta, and André Manjón, under the creative direction of Daniela Henao. The result was an immersive experience where music became the raw material for a visually and emotionally charged artistic choreography.

One of the project’s central elements was the dialogue between sound and image, incorporating visuals and works by artists such as Mirel Fraga, Alfonso Barrera, Rob Woodcox, Llorenz Sendra, alongside André Manjón and Gustavo García Murrieta, all represented by Banana Contemporary.

The wardrobe — developed by Indira Arias and Atardeser Dwsk, and complemented with jewelry by Enrique García — functioned as a conceptual extension of the project, reinforcing the idea of the body as both narrative support and moving artistic object.

Another of the project’s most powerful moments was the incorporation of archival photography from Bolivia and portraits of coca farmers, reimagining the notion of Latin American identity and transforming historically stigmatized symbols into acts of cultural and visual resistance.

With “De aquí pa’ allá,” Dany Deglein and Banana Contemporary consolidate a proposal where music, contemporary art, and creative direction converge into a new form of cultural experience.
