Canada Day was recently celebrated in Mexico City at the lavish Four Seasons hotel in collaboration with Four Seasons Montreal and the Canadian Embassy. Between art and top-level cocktails, the prime bar Fifty Mils along Canadian gallery DAHLIA SL presented The Night Show as a celebration.
Fifty Mils is one of the 50 best bars in the world and one of the few corners open to the public that the hotel has. DAHLIA SL is an exclusive gallery formed by a duo formed by Belinda and Dahlia Labatte, a team of mother and daughter.
The Night Show is an exhibition inspired by nightlife and those who thrive in it. Bars offer freedom and privacy in a public space that encourages you to be yourself. The anonymity of a bar raises the ego and gives rise to the search for pleasure. Inspired by this, The Night Show presented the works of 7 Canadian and 2 Mexican artists and cocktails created exclusively for the occasion by the Four Seasons Montreal lead bartender, Jonathan Homier.
The curation examines the dark side and focuses on the ego, the self, the light and the dark, and the public and the private. The Night Show focuses on the contrast between the excess and luxury of hotel nightlife and the privacy of a hotel room at night.
Artists included Noella Noel, Arantxa Solis, Callum Keith Rennie, Daniela Terroba Schlam, Donna Zekas, Emily Pope, Elly Smallwood, and Fabrizio Sclocco. His works inspired Homier to create cocktails like Cloud & Garden, Belinda, Dahlia, and Kebec. In addition to some special guests, the signature cocktail of Four Seasons Montreal, made with Tonka Beans, also known as the forbidden fruit, was also available off the menu.
It was a night of art and nightlife in the Four Seasons style.
The exhibition will last until November 1, and visits can be booked in the hotel’s concierge area or directly in the gallery.
