Thanks to the support of the Museum of Contemporary Art of Monterrey, MARCO, the secretary of culture and a series of multidisciplinary teams and experts from the Palace of Fine Arts come to the Museum of the Palace of Fine Arts, until June 30, Pico y Elote de Damián Ortega; a careful review of the work of one of the contemporary Mexican artists with the grandest international presence.
The exhibition shares more than 80 pieces that include installations, sculptures, photographs, films, and fabrics. All creations produced from the 1990s to the present. Through them, an ironic look extends to the conditions of production and consumption in which we participate.
The itinerary exhibition stands in a non-chronological journey through three curatorial axes. Harvesting, assembling, and collapsing favor criteria of a plastic and conceptual nature while maintaining skepticism towards the idea of progress in Mexico. The exhibition invites you to stop and contemplate it from different perspectives and delight with the messages and nuances the Mexico City-born artist shares in his work.
