Beethoven’s ninth symphony, one of the most emblematic works in the entire history of Western music, continues to captivate audiences; just last Saturday, it took on new life in the main hall of Bellas Artes, thanks to the incomparable talent of the dance company La Infinita Compañía, under the fantastic direction of the renowned choreographer and director Raúl Tamez, two-time winner of the Lunas del Auditorio and the Guillermo Arriaga national dance award and other prestigious awards.
The legendary curtain of the main hall of Bellas Artes opened twice to present the production in two performances before a full-house audience that was amazed and moved by a presentation full of emotions representing the path from hell to glory, inspired by one of the darkest passages in history and guided by the talent of the dancers to the rhythm of the symphony.
Tamez’s vision and talent as a choreographer and director of the staging took the audience on a sublime, intense, and impressive journey in which the composer and the director converge in a powerful reflection of emotions majestically represented by the dancers of La Infinita Company in the poignant universal language of dance.
