Mexico City, November 2025 — In the heart of Polanco, acclaimed visual artist Elisa Legorreta debuted her solo exhibition “Today and Always” at the prestigious Club de Industriales, bringing together collectors, critics, and art enthusiasts for a profoundly sensorial encounter with her work.

Open from November 12 to 20, the exhibition offered a visual journey exploring the connection between the present moment and the eternal—between the ephemeral and the transcendent. Featuring more than 30 pieces in multiple formats, Legorreta blended techniques such as embroidery, textile painting, encaustic, screen printing, and paper-tearing, creating a visual narrative that bridges traditional craftsmanship with contemporary expression.

Many of the works were crafted in collaboration with Mexican artisans and embroiderers from Valle de Bravo, Metepec, Mexico City, and Morelia, integrating the collective talent of women into a proposal that celebrates national identity and creative strength. Each piece was built from diverse materials—gathered fabrics, braided threads, yarn, crochet, pigments, and oil paint—forming what Legorreta describes as a kind of “visual music,” where color, texture, and movement come together to connect the soul with art.

With a career spanning more than 700 works, including paintings, artistic furniture, stained glass, murals, and large-scale installations, Legorreta reaffirms her place as one of the strongest voices in contemporary Mexican textile art. Her pieces have been showcased in cities across Mexico—Guadalajara, Monterrey, Acapulco, León, Cuernavaca, Huatulco, and Valle de Bravo—as well as internationally in New York, Chicago, Miami, Montreal, Santiago, São Paulo, and Zurich.

Among her most notable achievements is the design and creation of eight murals for the Georgetown University – School of Foreign Service in Education City, Qatar—a project that solidified her international presence.

Renowned for its commitment to the promotion of Mexican art, the Club de Industriales served as the ideal setting for an exhibition that intertwined reflection, aesthetics, and spirituality. With “Today and Always,” Legorreta weaves a bridge between art and life, reminding us that creation is, above all, an act of permanence.
