Chronicle of an Announced Consumerism, a powerful and profoundly reflective exhibition

Reading Time: 1,5 min.

In nature, there are no rewards or punishments; there are consequences, subscribes to the phrase of the American lawyer and politician Bob Ingersoll. That quote becomes relevant when visiting the Chronicle of an Announced Consumerism exhibition by artist Luigi Fantini from Artists’ Container, a challenging, powerful, and profoundly reflective art exhibition. It is currently on display until July 20, 2023, at the Museo Casa de León Trotsky in the Del Carmen neighborhood of Mexico City.

The exhibition, curated by Gabriela Gorab, presents a scathing critique of the materialistic and liquid obsession that permeates our society through the realistic and satirical style of the artist Luigi Fantini.

Chronicle of an Announced Consumerism welcomes viewers with a curatorial text in which Gabriela Gorab prepares us to be confronted by scenes that invite reflection and face the audience with their consumption habits and the invoice that these present to society and the planet.

A precise and commanding exhibition that captures human passion in its rawest and most visceral form and confronts the viewer with their own deepest motivations and desires.
