Bernarda’s new collection, by designer Paola Hinojos, AREWÁ, is a love letter to Chihuahua, its landscapes, the beauty of this state, and the Rarámuri influence and the cultures of this land. In the collection, none of the garments is identical to any typical Rarámuri costume.
Every attire presents us with a fresh and contemporary proposal inspired by the influence of growing up among four cultures living in harmony, shares the designer from Nuevo Casas Grandes, Chihuahua. The Mennonite, Mormon, Mexican, and particularly Rarámuri cultures continue to influence the creation of extraordinary and powerfully feminine pieces.
In the AREWÁ collection, movement and attention to details like the bias and volume of each garment stand out. The Rarámuri influence is alive in elements like the triangle to recall the iconic mountains of this land in a maximized wink located at strategic points of the garments reflecting love for the Chihuahua landscapes.
On the outdoor catwalk at the Mondrian Hotel, Bernarda presented 35 designs matched with Cuadra footwear. AREWÁ shares feminine looks with great fluidity and imposing volume in fabrics like raw silk, chiffon, leather, and taffeta. In addition, AREWÁ presented a runway proposal made of corn as part of the experimental work of Paola Hinojos to find the option for those who want to leave leather behind.
Arewá by Bernarda is a proposal created with love for the land of the designer and for those women in love with detail and feminine coquetry.
