In front of one of the capital’s most iconic buildings, a monumental structure redefines the entrance to El Palacio de Hierro Polanco. Pavilion A10, conceived by LANZA Atelier and curated by Ana Elena Mallet, is not just an installation: it is a declaration of love for the city, memory, and contemporary design. For a month, this cylinder of galvanized chains—which reflect light by day and illuminate like an urban lamp at dusk—will transform the public space into a place of contemplation and wonder. Through its form, materials, and narrative, the pavilion pays homage to the 19th-century iron tradition, reinterpreting it with a contemporary, vibrant, and poetic language.

An immersive experience between light, water, and the city
The visitor enters via a ramp that leads to a central yellow ring, with a large circular bench that invites one to sit, look, and think. From there, the installation evokes the neighborhoods that inspired the Palace’s architecture: Reforma, Lomas, Roma-Condesa, and Pedregal. Water flows subtly as a metaphor for time and urban life. Climbing a staircase, one reaches a viewing platform that offers a privileged view of the building, framed by the pavilion’s metal curtain: a visual interplay between past and present, between solidity and transparency. A meeting point between history and future, LANZA Atelier—founded by Isabel Abascal and Alessandro Arienzo—has been recognized for its elegant, thoughtful, and precise approach to architecture. Its spatial language finds a new turning point here, connecting with the city through sensorial and symbolic aspects. Ana Elena Mallet, a key figure in Mexican design and an internationally recognized curatorial voice, describes the project as “a bridge between history, architecture, and city life.” It’s no coincidence: Pavilion A10 is an open space for dialogue between art, commerce, and the community.

The ephemeral leaves its mark.
